The Aviary Club of Nigeria joyfully celebrates one of the legends of the Nigerian entertainment industry, Avian Maleke Moye Idowu. A respected and beloved member of the Edo South Aviary, he remains a shining symbol of creativity, leadership, and cultural pride.
Born in Benin City, Edo State, Avian Maleke attended Oguola Primary School and EdoKpolor Grammar School before proceeding to Auchi Polytechnic, where he studied Business Administration. From an early age, he developed a deep passion for music and performance, beginning his artistic journey in gospel music, ministering in churches and choirs.
He later transitioned into comedy, rising to prominence on major stages across Nigeria and internationally, performing alongside leading comedians. In music, he gained national recognition with the release of his first commercial album, which featured the widely celebrated hit song “Mini Mini Wana Wana.” The song resonated across the country and became a cultural anthem, firmly establishing him as a household name. His energetic comedic style and playful musical expression have endeared him to audiences far and wide.
Beyond entertainment, Avian Maleke has demonstrated exemplary leadership and public service. He served as Chairman of the Performing Musicians Employers' Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Edo State Chapter, and was appointed Senior Special Adviser on Entertainment Matters to former Edo State Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole. His influence extends into concert promotion and media, including organizing the widely recognized Maleke Unchained annual event, alongside numerous acting and television appearances.
As a proud member of the Edo South Aviary, he is also known as an outspoken activist and advocate for the people, a man whose voice continues to inspire community engagement and cultural unity.
Today, Avian Maleke Moye Idowu stands as a multifaceted entertainer and public figure whose journey spans gospel roots, comedy, music success, leadership, activism, and cultural promotion, marking him as an influential voice from Edo State and Nigeria at large.
