A Mission Rooted in Compassion and Service

The Free NHIS registration exercise was strategically designed to provide cost-free access to national health insurance for members of the public, with special focus on financially disadvantaged individuals and families who are often unable to afford the cost of registration.

In Ghana, as in many parts of Africa, limited access to healthcare remains a major challenge due to economic constraints. Recognizing that health is a fundamental human right, the Aviary Club of Nigeria, through its Gold Coast Aviary, took deliberate action to remove financial barriers preventing vulnerable populations from accessing essential medical services.

Through this exercise, beneficiaries were enrolled into the National Health Insurance Scheme at no cost, ensuring they can now seek medical attention when needed without fear of financial hardship.

Purpose and Importance of the Initiative

The Free NHIS registration exercise was driven by a clear purpose:

to bridge the healthcare access gap and improve the quality of life for underserved communities.

By facilitating free health insurance registration, the initiative:

• Addressed healthcare inequality

• Promoted preventive and early medical care

• Increased public awareness on the importance of health insurance

• Strengthened trust between community members and service-oriented organizations

This intervention stands as a proactive response to one of society’s most pressing needs, accessible healthcare for all.
