CELEBRATING A DISTINGUISHED LEADER: ENGINEER HILTON PETERS AT ANOTHER MILESTONE
Today, we proudly celebrate a distinguished gentleman, respected leader, administrator and passionate servant of humanity, Avian Engineer Hilton Peters, the Regional President of the South South Regional Council of the Aviary Club of Nigeria, as he marks another remarkable year of his life. Birthdays are more than a celebration of age. They are an opportunity to reflect on the journey, recognize achievements, appreciate impact and look forward to a future filled with greater possibilities. For Engineer Hilton Peters, this new chapter represents another milestone in a life characterized by leadership, service, commitment and a desire to make a meaningful difference.
He is an alumnus of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, and previously served as Chapter President of Edo State Aviary. His experience within the organization, combined with his administrative ability and dedication, positioned him for the responsibility of leading the South South Regional Council. As Regional President, he stands at the forefront of efforts to promote unity, cooperation, responsible leadership and the ideals of the Aviary Club across the South South region.
Engineer Hilton Peters has also been associated with initiatives focused on youth development, responsible citizenship and nation-building.
In 2022, reporting on an Aviary Club of Nigeria youth event in Benin City identified Engineer Hilton Peters among senior members who spoke about the need for proper orientation and positive opportunities for young people. The event focused on discouraging violence and encouraging young Nigerians to contribute positively to society.
This aspect of his public service demonstrates that leadership, for him, extends beyond titles and ceremonies. It is about influencing lives, encouraging responsible choices and contributing to the development of society.
The current leadership of the South South Regional Council represents what the Aviary Club has described as “a new dawn” for the region. With Engineer Hilton Peters at the helm, the regional leadership has been entrusted with the responsibility of strengthening the Club's presence, creating unity among chapters and encouraging members to embrace the values of service, discipline and progressive leadership. The regional executive team includes professionals from different fields, reflecting the Club's emphasis on bringing together individuals with diverse talents and experiences for a common purpose. Leadership of such a diverse community requires patience, wisdom, courage and the ability to bring people together. These are qualities that will continue to define the responsibility before Engineer Hilton Peters as he begins another year of life and service.
Today, we are not merely celebrating Engineer Hilton Peters because another year has been added to his age.
