“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven…”
These timeless words from Ecclesiastes remind us of life’s delicate balance of beginnings and endings, joy and sorrow, planting and uprooting. Life unfolds in seasons we cannot control, each moment carrying its own purpose, even when that purpose is difficult to understand.
There is a time to be born and a time to die, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance. Yet, while we may accept the certainty of death in thought, its reality is never easy to bear. Death remains inevitable, an unchanging truth for all, but no amount of awareness can truly prepare the human heart for the weight of loss.
The pain often lies not just in the departure, but in the uncertainty that surrounds it. We never quite know when the final moment will come, when the last conversation will take place, or when an ordinary day will quietly become the last shared memory. And when that moment passes, we are left holding onto fragments, memories that become both our comfort and our sorrow.
In the face of grief, we are reminded of our humanity, the depth of our love reflected in the depth of our pain. Though mourning may linger, so too does the beauty of the moments once shared. And in time, as seasons continue to change, those memories become a quiet strength, guiding us gently from sorrow toward acceptance.
