  • Madiba Aviary at 10: A Decade of Resilience, Brotherhood, and Legacy!

A Decade of Resilience, Brotherhood, and Legacy! October 24th, 2025, marks a momentous day in the history of Madiba Aviary a proud celebration of 10 years of existence, growth, and unwavering unity. From humble beginnings to becoming a symbol of strength and brotherhood within the avian community, the journey of Madiba Aviary is one that inspires admiration and gratitude. A Journey Rooted in Vision and Faith The story of Madiba Aviary South Africa is a testament to vision, perseverance, and divine grace. Its foundation can be traced back to the formation of an 11-man committee, constituted under the leadership of the then Ex-Supreme Eagle of the ACN, Avian Best-Man Eze Jumbo, acting under the instruction and direction of the Ex-Global President Chief, Ali Bay. This committee was chaired by Sir Yellow-Man, with Dr. Olumide Fafore serving as the secretary. Other notable members included Keke Oduma, Ayodele Adewunmi, Tigana, Beluchi, Chief Ifeanyi Onogwu, Black Jesus, Akin Martins, and Fred (now based in the USA). Together, these pioneers laid the groundwork for what would later become the prestigious Madiba Aviary. Trials, Triumphs, and the Spirit of Brotherhood Like every great endeavor, the formation of Madiba was not without its challenges. During its early stages, the late Vicabu, World President Baoba, visited South Africa to lend his support to the founding process. Sadly, he passed away during this mission a tragic event that temporarily delayed the official chartering of the aviary. Yet, despite this setback, the spirit of the brotherhood remained strong. A historic event took place at Mack-Angelus Hotel, Sandton, South Africa, where Keke Oduma was selected as the Pioneer President (GI) prior to the Conclave. Olaniyi, “The Voice,” assumed the role of Vice President (GOS), while Ayodele Adewunmi took on the position of the Chief Operation Officer (GFC), among other key appointments. The official chartering of Madiba Aviary eventually took place at CHOPS Restaurant and Night Club in Midrand owned by Best-Man Eze Jumbo who was based in South Africa at the time. The event witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including Kehinde Ojomo, who arrived from Nigeria to celebrate this milestone, and Engr. Odun Ayo Ibitoye, whose contributions were instrumental from the inception. Honoring the Pillars and Elders As Madiba Aviary marks its 10th anniversary, heartfelt appreciation goes to the founding members, elders, and pioneers whose sacrifices, guidance, and resilience sustained the aviary through the years. We remember with deep respect those who stood firm and declared “Madiba must be!” from Sir Bayo Ali to Hamilton, Engr. David Olukoga, Sir Bidemi Agbaje, Sir Odia, and the elders like Late Baba Marto, Sir Bimbo, Late Sir Ayo Fasanya, and Late Tope Dada. We acknowledge the leadership transitions from Baba Chris to Seyi Olusa to Akete under Demiji Okito to Dr. Smith each contributing uniquely to the growth of the aviary. We also celebrate Siyanbola Abiodun, Engr. Ibitoye, Meriman Araba, and Chief Bestman, whose business venue served as the first home of Madiba Aviary. Gratitude also goes to Kenny Ojomo, Talopa Chief, Akeem Anisere, Ololo, Elder Isaac, Jaga Mazonia, Kupaino, Kennedy and all others who played pivotal roles during the early days. Special recognition goes to Keke Oduma, Sir Sauxy Joe, and Galaxy, whose tireless efforts helped the aviary navigate through challenging times. And to Elder Bidemi, whose belief in Madiba never wavered your legacy of faith continues to inspire. Looking Ahead: The Next Chapter Ten years on, Madiba Aviary stands tall as a beacon of unity, brotherhood, and perseverance. The support of Sir Odia, the current Supreme Council, and the collective dedication of every member have ensured that the dream lives on. As we look forward to the next decade, the vision remains clear to strengthen our bonds, expand our reach, and preserve the proud legacy of Madiba Aviary for generations to come. Indeed, the next 10 years will be greater. Long Live Madiba Aviary! ACN Media Aviary Club of Nigeria 📧 info@theaviaryclub.org 📧 media@theaviaryclub.org 🌐 www.theaviaryclub.org

  • ACN MEDIA | THE COURAGE TO SAY NO

The word “No” simply means refusal, denial, or rejection but in deeper, advantageous terms, it is far more powerful than that. As Avians and as human beings, we often find ourselves in situations where it is difficult to say No. Out of kindness, respect, or sometimes fear of disappointing others, we may choose to say Yes even when we know it is not realistic for us to deliver on that promise. This natural tendency, though well-intentioned, can easily place us in uncomfortable positions. The truth is that the courage to say No is not a weakness. It is strength. It is honesty. It is an enviable quality that reflects discipline and integrity. When we agree to things we cannot fulfill, we do not only risk our own peace of mind, we also risk our credibility. People begin to see us as evasive or unreliable. On the other hand, when we develop the courage to say No where it is necessary, we build trust. We let others know that our Yes is genuine and dependable. We also show that we value their trust enough not to compromise it with empty words. Saying No does not mean that we are careless or unwilling to help. It means we are sincere about our limitations, and in that sincerity, we show respect to both ourselves and those around us. For us in the Aviary, this principle is even more important. Our creed calls for openness of all eyes and mind, and part of that openness is the ability to be honest even when it is difficult. It is better to decline politely and truthfully than to say Yes and later fall short. I encourage us as brothers to embrace this practice. Let us see No not as rejection but as a tool of clarity, truth, and reliability. By doing so, we will strengthen the trust we share in our community and uphold the values that make our bond unique. The Power of “No” A Word of Strength and Wisdom 1. “No” as a Boundary of Strength Saying No is not about being difficult; it’s about protecting your energy, values, and priorities. It allows you to focus on what truly matters and prevents you from being stretched too thin. 2. “No” as a Compass of Integrity When you say No to things that conflict with your principles or exceed your capacity, you display honesty, clarity, and self-awareness. 3. “No” as a Seed of Growth Every time you say No to distractions, you are saying Yes to focus, progress, and purpose. 4. “No” as a Shield of Peace Constantly agreeing to everything leads to stress, exhaustion, and broken promises. A thoughtful No safeguards your peace of mind and emotional balance. 5. “No” as a Key to Respect People may not always appreciate hearing No, but they will always respect those who communicate it with clarity and conviction. • The Aviary Club of Nigeria Joins Edo State Government Sensitization Campaign Against Cultism and Kidnapping

In celebration of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, The Aviary Club of Nigeria (ACN) proudly joined the Edo State Government’s Sensitization Campaign Against Cultism and Kidnapping, a landmark initiative aimed at curbing the rising menace of cult-related activities and abductions across the state. Led by Edo Aviary Chapter President, Avian Uche, alongside other state executives and members, the awareness walk traversed major streets in Benin City, drawing the attention of residents to the urgent need for collective action in building a safer society. The event underscored the club’s enduring commitment to advocacy, community engagement, and the promotion of peace. This campaign aligns with the Edo State Government’s recent enactment of the Secret Cult and Similar Activities (Prohibition) Law, 2025, which introduces stringent measures and penalties for individuals or groups involved in cultism, its sponsorship, or the harboring of cult members. The law represents a bold step toward restoring public order, and the Aviary Club of Nigeria lends its full support to its enforcement. Speaking during the campaign, representatives of the Aviary Club emphasized that societal transformation begins with civic responsibility and moral reawakening. They reiterated that community participation remains the strongest weapon against insecurity, and that collaborative efforts between government, security agencies, and civic organizations are essential in achieving sustainable peace. “As a humanitarian and advocacy-based organization, we believe that the safety of our communities is a shared duty,” said Chapter President. “The Aviary Club of Nigeria stands firmly with the Edo State Government in the fight against cultism, kidnapping, and all forms of criminality. Together, we can restore dignity, safety, and hope to our people.” Media contact@theaviarynews.org media@theaviaryclub.org info@theaviaryclub.org www.theaviaryclub.org
